Philosophy + Farmers = GOLD

With Colorado produce season upon us, we took time earlier this week to reflect upon our 2014 “Choose Colorado” tour with Colorado Proud. Last night, the Philosophy team made more fond memories…all because of our love of food and local farmers. It’s no secret the Philosophy team loves food. Growing it, buying it, cooking it and of course, eating it. Food nourishes our bodies… and our souls. Food gives us sustenance, but it also gives us reasons to gather, to connect, to share experiences and to celebrate. And celebrate is exactly what we did last night at the annual PRSA Gold Pick awards ceremony.

The Philosophy team was recognized with three Gold Pick awards for our work raising awareness about Colorado Proud, the organization that promotes food and agriculture products grown, raised or processed in Colorado.

Philosophy created a communication campaign that took us on an agricultural road trip across the state from the Front Range to the Western Slope, from the mountains to the plains, from the Four Corners to the high valleys. At every stop, we met and collaborated with farmers, growers, distributors, retailers and consumers.  We celebrated Colorado’s rich agricultural economy and educated people about the impact food and agriculture have on our state.

Our “Choose Colorado” tour culminated with a Colorado Proud lunch at the Colorado History Center. The governor, agriculture commissioner, members of the media, bloggers, farmers and other agriculture dignitaries all gathered to celebrate and dine on a menu of Colorado Proud dishes prepared by a renowned Colorado chef.

Our campaign reached the hearts, minds and stomachs of millions of Coloradans. We successfully raised awareness of Colorado Proud by nearly five percentage points from 80% to 85%. Thanks to PRSA Colorado for recognizing our passion and our work and thanks to Colorado Proud for being such a great client and allowing us to do such great work in the first place.

So the next time you see the Colorado Proud logo on a product in the grocery store, buy it. It’s like you’re virtually hugging a farmer.
