Town of Frisco
Frisco, Colorado, is a charming mountain town with something for everyone: ready access to world-class and down-home skiing, boating on Dillon Reservoir, a rich mining history, a year-round roster of exciting events, and unique shops and restaurants. So with all that to offer, where were the visitors? The town hired Philosophy to find out — and entice visitors to sample Frisco’s diverse delights.Solution:
Our research told us that most visitors were from Denver, Colorado Springs, and other Front Range cities, and they became the focus of our campaign. We heavily promoted the events we thought would draw the greatest attention: Salomon’s Gold Rush, the BBQ Challenge, Beetlefest and Wassail Days. We also built the Town of Frisco’s social media presence to attract visitors. Although the budget was tight, we devised creative ways to spark media interest, delivering attention-getting press kits to selected members of the media.
The campaign and the events were wildly successful. The town manager noted that visitors to Frisco and to each of its events were up significantly over the previous year, a 35 percent increase for the BBQ Challenge and 20 percent for all other events.
